Deputy Home Manager – Solo Residential Children’s Homes
Location: Working across two solo residential children’s homes
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (9AM–5PM) with on-call duties and flexibility for shift cover
Overview
RJS Resourcing are supporting a highly regarded children’s care provider in the recruitment of a Deputy Home Manager to work across two solo residential children’s homes.

The Role
The Deputy Home Manager will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of two homes, ensuring that the highest standards of care, compliance and safeguarding are met. Working alongside the Home Manager, you’ll guide and inspire your team, helping to create safe, nurturing spaces where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the Home Manager in the effective daily operation of both homes.

Provide leadership, supervision and ongoing development to care teams.
*
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

Conduct and review risk assessments, ensuring the safety of young people and staff.
*
Lead by example to promote a positive, child-centred culture.
*
Oversee and maintain accurate documentation, care plans and incident reports.
*
Manage staff rotas, ensuring appropriate coverage and flexibility for shift support when needed.
*
Provide on-call support as part of a rota and step in for the Home Manager when required.

Support young people’s development and well-being through consistent, trauma-informed care.
Requirements
*
NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce, Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
*
Proven experience working in residential children’s care.
*
Sound understanding of Ofsted standards and safeguarding legislation.
*
Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in staff supervision.
*
Confident in managing multiple priorities and making decisions under pressure.
*
Full UK driving licence preferred.
