Overview
You will be based at Haydock House, Wetherby Close, Stockton on Tees, TS18 2SL, and will cover the entire North East Region as required by the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct Pre‑Placement Unpaid Work Induction sessions.
* Lead the daily 'tool box' talk to brief service users on tasks, safety, and motivation.
* Follow work directions within the project placement file and keep accurate health & safety records.
* Ensure tools, equipment and supplies are available and used safely.
* Carry out dynamic risk assessments and manage hazards.
* Use pro‑social and motivational techniques to ensure disciplined completion of work.
* Monitor attendance, promote successful completions and maintain accurate records in the case management system.
* Work towards accreditation as a workplace assessor or deliver training assessments to selected service users.
* Promote Community Payback to colleagues, external agencies, Sentencers and the public.
Working Pattern
The role requires frequent weekends and, where necessary, evenings. Higher rates apply for weekend and evening work. The position may also be part‑time in some regions.
Qualification & Experience Requirements
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence (Category D1 Minibus). Automatic licences are not accepted.
* Experience of practical skills and supervisory ability.
* Evidence of teamwork, problem‑solving and effective interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of workplace safety, public protection and risk management.
* Basic knowledge of First Aid and willingness to undertake further training.
* Willingness to attain IOSH Level 3 or equivalent and to achieve a L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent.
* Good written communication and influencing skills.
