Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with an industry leading client to recruit an Accounts Payable Manager on a Fixed Term Contract for 9 months.
The Accounts Payable Manager will take responsibility for the operational activities of the Accounts Payable function covering an extensive supplier base with annual spend in excess of £500m.
Based remotely, with occasional travel to their South West Head Office and a requirement to travel at least once to their offshored team in India, duties will include:
1. Ensure supplier payments are made on a timely and accurate basis, in line with the Prompt Payment Code.
2. Oversee 5 main functions in AP operated out of a Shared Service Centre in India: matching & automation; query resolution; payments; helpdesk and expenses.
3. Drive optimal performance of these functions via data-driven KPIs and metrics, and problem resolution via root-cause analysis.
4. Take direct responsibility for mitigating actions such as recovery of overpayments and resolution of legal escalations with suppliers.
5. Manage the AP elements of the month-end process such as direct debit payment and balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Build strong relationships with colleagues to achieve the goals you set for the AP function.
7. Work with the SSC to optimize performance of the AP team.
8. Work with Procurement and suppliers to ensure compliance to our invoicing process.
9. Oversee the operation of the supplier helpdesk to ensure high levels of satisfaction for its customers
You will be an experienced AP Manager with extensive experience of working in an offshored AP model. A commitment to using and analysing data to drive performance is essential as is a continuous improvement mindset. Previous experience of managing an offshored team and influencing performance is also essential.
