Join to apply for the Ward Clerk role at NHS Scotland.
We require individuals to join our team of Ward Clerks within the Emergency Care Directorate, providing efficient and effective support to our busy Wards and Departments. This involves working within a busy reception area, handling a large volume of telephone calls, moving and handling, and electronic tracking of patient casenotes on a daily basis. You will also be required to update activity within our electronic Patient Administration System and provide administrative and clerical support to the Senior Charge Nurse and team with general day-to-day Ward/Department administration.
Responsibilities
* Operate in a busy reception area, manage a high volume of telephone calls, and provide front-line administrative support to wards and departments.
* Move, handle, and electronically track patient casenotes and update activity in the electronic Patient Administration System.
* Provide clerical support to the Senior Charge Nurse and the team with day-to-day ward/department administration.
Qualifications
* Relevant admin/clerical and reception experience is required.
* Ability to prioritise and manage day-to-day workload in a busy health service environment.
* English language competency and communication skills sufficient to perform the role safely and effectively.
