They’re now looking to appoint a Technical Manager – Quality and Food Safety Systems to take ownership of site-wide compliance, continuous improvement, and retailer standards in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The Role As Technical Manager – Quality and Food Safety Systems, you’ll lead the development, implementation, and improvement of food safety and quality systems across the site. You’ll ensure GFSI compliance (BRC, FSSC 22000, SQF) while maintaining strong relationships with seven major UK retailers and driving site-wide audit readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role with cross-functional influence, ideal for someone who enjoys both detail and big-picture thinking. Responsibilities * Lead and maintain GFSI-aligned Quality & Food Safety Systems (BRC, FSSC 22000, SQF) * Act as Food Safety Team Leader (HACCP, TACCP, VACCP) * Oversee ethical certification compliance (Fairtrade, Organic, Rainforest Alliance) * Manage supplier quality systems (e.g. TraceGains SRM) * Coordinate internal audits, investigations, and customer complaint resolution * Maintain audit readiness and full regulatory compliance * Drive continuous improvement and systems innovation across departments What’s on Offer * £50,000 – £60,000 salary (negotiable dependent on experience) * 25 days holiday bank holidays * Private Medical Insurance & Life Assurance * Generous pension scheme * Employee Assistance Programme & wellbeing support * Genuine career development in a high-growth, people-first organisation Candidate Profile * Degree in Food Science or related subject (preferred) * 3 years' experience managing Quality and Food Safety Systems in a food or beverage manufacturing environment * Proven experience dealing with multiple UK retailers * In-depth knowledge of GFSI standards and food safety legislation * HACCP Level 3 and Lead Auditor qualification required * Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills * CI/Lean or Green Belt qualification advantageous This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in a progressive and supportive business where your expertise will be highly valued
