Overview
CNC programmer and Setter operator (programmer on Siemens machinery) - Location: Rugby, UK. Salary 40k salary plus annual leave and company pension. Shift: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Reporting to: Operations Manager.
Overtime: Opportunities available, often encouraged (subject to company discretion). Position Available: Immediate start.

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to assist a team of machinists in our precision breakdown machine shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of CNC Milling Centres, manual lathes, and mills, ensuring high levels of productivity, quality, and safety. As a breakdown shop, adaptability is key, and the ideal candidate should have a solid background in both CNC programming and manual machining, with the ability to lead a team under tight deadlines and challenging conditions.
Key Responsibilities
* Machine Operation & Setup: Supervise the setup, operation, and maintenance of Siemens CNC Milling Centres, manual lathes, milling machines, and other precision machinery.
* Program, set up, and operate CNC Milling Centres using Siemens controls.
* Program and modify CNC programs using offline programming tools such as Fusion 360 (preferred).
* Ensure machines are set up correctly, tool changes are done efficiently, and parts are produced to the highest precision and quality standards.
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in a precision machining environment, with specific experience in CNC machining (Siemens CNC Milling Centres).
* Strong programming and operation skills with Siemens CNC controls and offline programming tools (Fusion 360 is preferred).
* Experience with manual machining, including lathes and milling machines, is highly desirable.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Proficiency in using various measuring equipment (micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, etc.).
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in a breakdown/repair environment.
* A proactive approach to health, safety, and quality control standards.
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with the team and management.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable
* Experience with additional CNC controls (e.g., FANUC, Heidenhain).
* Knowledge of basic welding techniques for repairs and breakdown tasks.
* A relevant qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or Machining, is beneficial.
