Job Title: Locum Acute Medicine Registrar Grade: ST3 Location: London, Greater London Hours per Week: Flexible hours 7 – 50 hours (days, lates, weekends and on-calls). Consultant Rate: £50- £80 per hour We are seeking a motivated and experienced Registrar in Acute Medicine to join the acute medical team at our Trust in central London. You will be working within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU) / acute admissions pathway, managing a high-volume and varied caseload and contributing to the delivery of timely, high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Lead the assessment, investigation and early management of acutely unwell patients admitted under the acute medical take in the AMU or equivalent unit. Perform ward rounds, coordinate discharge planning, escalation and specialty referrals in collaboration with consultants and multidisciplinary teams. Supervise and support junior doctors (SHOs, CT2s) and other medical staff. Participate in teaching/training activities for juniors and medical students, and contribute to clinical audit, quality improvement and service development initiatives. Contribute to clinical guideline development and ensure evidence-based practice. Maintain high standards of patient safety, governance and compassion in line with Trust values. Person Specification – Qualifications & Experience Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with licence to practise. MRCP (or equivalent) preferred. Specialist training in General (Internal) Medicine / Acute Medicine or equivalent. Previous NHS experience (eg at least 6 months). Experience in acute medicine, including the acute take, ward rounds and multidisciplinary working. Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Commitment to teaching, audit and continuous professional development.
