We are partnering with an investor-backed commercial real estate business to appoint a Head of Corporate Accounting. This is a senior leadership role within a growing finance team, offering the opportunity to shape external reporting, strengthen financial controls, and play a key role in a complex, multi-entity environment. The business operates a significant portfolio of high-quality workspaces across major European cities and is backed by leading institutional investors with ambitious growth plans. With continued expansion and a sophisticated group structure, the business is seeking a technically strong finance leader to oversee statutory reporting, audit, and treasury activities while driving improvements across the finance function.
The Role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Corporate Accounting will lead the Corporate Accounting and Treasury teams and take ownership of the group’s external financial reporting processes.
You will play a central role in managing statutory reporting and consolidation across a multi-entity group, leading the annual audit process, and ensuring the business maintains strong financial controls and governance as it continues to grow.
This is a highly visible role with regular interaction with senior leadership, lenders, and investors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements across the group under IFRS and FRS 101.
Oversee the group consolidation process, ensuring accurate intercompany eliminations and timely consolidated reporting.
Maintain and update group accounting policies in line with evolving accounting standards.
Review technical accounting papers covering complex areas such as leases, revenue recognition, impairment, and financial instruments.
Support technically complex areas of the monthly and quarterly close process.
External Audit
Act as the primary contact for external auditors and coordinate the group audit process.
Manage the annual audit across multiple entities, ensuring delivery within tight timelines.
Review audit deliverables and ensure high-quality documentation and support.
Drive initiatives to improve audit readiness, documentation, and internal processes.
Treasury
Oversee group cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Manage banking relationships and support liquidity planning.
Monitor compliance with lending covenants and funding arrangements.
Controls & Governance
Design and maintain a robust financial control framework.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, lender, and investor reporting requirements.
Support ongoing improvement of governance and reporting processes across the group.
Leadership
Lead and develop the Financial Reporting and Treasury teams.
Provide technical guidance across the wider finance function.
Foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes.
Enhance systems, documentation, and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
Support finance transformation initiatives within a fast-growing business.
About You
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
Strong experience in statutory reporting and external audit management within a multi-entity environment.
Deep technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and/or FRS 101.
Experience leading group consolidations.
Exposure to treasury, cash flow management, and covenant compliance.
Proven ability to improve processes and strengthen financial controls.
Background in a Top 10 audit firm and/or experience in a fast-paced commercial environment would be advantageous.
