Learning Support Mentor
Location: CambridgeSalary: £21,355 per annum (actual salary) | £24,577 FTEContract: Permanent, Term Time Only (38 weeks per year)Hours: 37 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Mentor to join our department. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support students with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, helping them develop independence, access learning opportunities, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to fully access their curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
* Work collaboratively with lecturers, assessors, and support teams across a variety of learning environments.
* Assist students with note-taking, reading materials, use of assistive technologies, and study skills.
* Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
* Promote independence, confidence, and personal development.
* Support students during classroom activities, educational visits, breaks, and off-site learning opportunities.
* Maintain accurate records of support provided and student progress.
* Contribute to reviews, support planning, and team meetings.
* Assist with therapy programmes where appropriate under professional guidance.
* Champion inclusion and student wellbeing across the college community.

Essential Requirements
* GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
* Recent experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
* Experience working with young people or adults within education, healthcare, social care, or a similar setting.
* Ability to take notes and provide learning support in a classroom environment.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and work across different curriculum areas as required.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
* Level 2 Learning Support qualification (or working towards).
* Experience of sighted guiding.
* Knowledge of assistive technologies and inclusive learning practices.
