Environmental & Sustainability Specialist - Torness

We are currently looking for an Environmental & Sustainability Specialist based in Torness to support our environmental team, work with various construction teams and project stakeholders, audit and measure environmental and sustainability efforts, and with reports, sharing best practice, and co-ordinating environmental activities on the project.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with day-to-day environmental compliance and sustainability strategies on a large construction site
• Delivery environmental, sustainability and carbon related toolbox talks / briefings
• Support the Environmental Manager regarding regulator and or client queries and requests
• Support Environmental Manager with environmental and sustainability day to day tasks.
• Keep the construction environmental and sustainability plans up to date as the project evolves
• Carry out weekly environmental and sustainability inspections.
• Assist with Water, Waste and Air quality monitoring
• Assist with BREEAM infrastructure
• Gather data related to sustainability initiatives, to support decision making-making processes
• Help monitor sustainability performance metrics, including, but not limited to, carbon emissions, waste generation, and energy consumption
• Support the Environmental Manager in developing and delivering training sessions for site personnel on sustainability practices and policies
• Work with the engineering and design teams to ensure sustainable construction is captured for the project.
• Support the delivery of project Key Performance Indicators
What we're looking for:
• 0 - 2 years of experience.
• Environmental Science, Engineering or similar degree.
• Experienced with MS Office and similar tools.
• Experience with GIS software will be an asset.
• Critical thinking & troubleshooting capability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Expected to liaise with site staff, client environmental regulators.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Ideally a member of IEMA or similar environmental body.
• Ability to work on site full time and travel when needed.
