Overview
The Named Nurse/Professional role fulfils the Level 4 Specialist Role - named nurse/professional function as described in the Intercollegiate Documents (2024; 2019; 2020). The post provides professional leadership in safeguarding children, offering expert knowledge and health advice to healthcare providers within Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS) to ensure consistent safeguarding, policies and procedures are implemented in line with current legislation. The named professional will work closely with the adult safeguarding team to embed the Think Whole Family approach across the Trust.
To be actively involved in strategic planning and interagency service developments for safeguarding children in accordance with national and local requirements.
To develop and maintain processes and procedures for safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk of harm or abuse within Cambridgeshire Community Services, ensuring that safeguarding systems are in place and continuously developed to minimise risk.

Responsibilities
* Lead safeguarding as a professional with expert knowledge and health advice for safeguarding children within CCS.
* Work with the adult safeguarding team to embed the Think Whole Family approach in all practice across the Trust.
* Be actively involved in strategic planning and interagency safeguarding developments in line with national and local requirements.
* Develop and maintain safeguarding processes for children, young people and adults at risk of harm or abuse to minimise risk.
* Provide corporate safeguarding support across the organisation with primary responsibility for Luton and Bedfordshire.
* Collaborate with named professionals and senior management to embed Think Whole Family safeguarding across care delivery.
Qualifications / Experience
* Proven knowledge of safeguarding and experience in a safeguarding position.
* Highly motivated and experienced practitioner with commitment to improving opportunities for children and young people.
