I have the pleasure of representing a large firm of Solicitors who are looking to recruit an experienced PI Fee earner to join their expanding PI Team. This is a fantastic opportunity with remote and hybrid options available. (applicants should live relatively close for Team and client meetings)
Salary: competitive (DOE)
Job Purpose
1. To progress own case load efficiently to both satisfy the client and maximise the Firm’s interests.
Key Tasks/Areas
2. Effective use of Firm’s case management system
3. Manage own case load efficiently
4. Liaise with referrers and manage their expectations in respect of quality and service
5. Take initial instructions from clients
6. Ability to vet a claim at initial stages
7. Assess funding requirements
8. Investigate liability / assessing quantum
9. Liaise with Insurers
10. Advising clients
11. Litigation work subject to experience and expertise
12. Drafting court documents where appropriate
13. Court proceedings/compliance with pre-action protocols
14. Advocacy as and when required
15. Liaison with Counsel / Instructions to Counsel
16. Negotiating settlements
17. Prepare predictive costs calculations and possibly negotiate
18. Provide assistance to team members
19. Compliance with office procedures
20. Weekly reports to Team Manager
21. Any other duties that may be required of you by the Firm from time to time
22. Training new staff entering the department as and when required.
Qualifications/skills required to perform role
23. Basic typing skills/computer skills
24. Good organisational and planning skills
25. Good telephone manner/ability to communicate effectively
26. ILEX exams preferred
