Position Summary
This role is responsible for the management and auditing of suppliers/partners to ensure their proficiency in the output of a quality product in accordance with established quality standards, QMS protocols, manufacturing process controls, and adherence to governmental regulations where the product will be sold. The role will be to support existing suppliers and manage new suppliers in line with the internal process - Supplier Management Lifecycle.
Principal Responsibilities/Duties
* This role is the first point of contact in the event of a quality issue arising from a supplier/partner.
* Management of suppliers including but not limited to raw material suppliers, partner mills, secondary finish suppliers and finished goods suppliers.
* Ensuring sufficient process controls by performing gap analysis, CPK statistical analysis, time and motion studies and using other Lean manufacturing tools.
* Selecting suppliers based on technical feasibility, process controls, adherence to proven Quality Management systems.
* Development of technical plans including but not limited to specifications and AQL, as well as assisting suppliers to create their own quality manual and standard operating procedures.
* Make sure suppliers/partners manufacture, inspect, and deliver goods in accordance with technical plans in coordination with Product Development / Engineering / Quality.
* Create/review contracts to enable supplier control.
* Control supplier compliance to root cause, corrective action methods (8D, Is/Is not, etc.) when required.
* Control compliance to governmental standards (REACH, ROHS, Banned chemicals, etc.) • Control Engineering change process at suppliers
* PPAP completion/Submission
* Responsible for performance reviews of suppliers utilizing scorecard and KPIs. KPIs at a minimum will include delivery, outgoing quality, and responsiveness,
* Assists in customer audits at partner mills and suppliers as required. Perform audits of partner mills and suppliers. Evaluate and monitor partner’s/supplier’s test facility and support timely testing / minimize group costs by promoting mutual use of the facilities.
Unique Knowledge & Skills
* Degree educated in an Engineering discipline (PD, Mechanical, Chemical, Automotive, Aerospace or Manufacturing)
* 5 years or more experience in Supplier/partner industrialization, ideally within automotive sector.
* Problem solving disciplines such as 8D, 6Sigma tools etc.
* Experience in Lean manufacturing tools, 5S implementation or knowledge of TPS
* Technical proficiency in identifying, documenting, and resolving process gaps, material specifications, supplier contracts.
* Strong Proficiency in English to an Engineering technical level.

Interacts with: Raw Material Suppliers, Finished goods suppliers, Secondary finish suppliers, Customer process, technical and quality teams, and external labs.
Must be emotionally intelligent and strong with relationship building and maintaining.
Salary: 55,000- 70,000 GBP annually
