Job Overview
Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family! We are looking for a professional and adaptable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide exceptional security covering a Marks & Spencer Distribution Centre. As an SPO, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for staff, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across all DCs. Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide professional security cover at M&S Distribution Centre
* Deliver outstanding customer service in line with Mitie and M&S key values
* Maintain professional standards of appearance, conduct, and incident reporting
* Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures
* Conduct regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security
* Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access
* Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies following site protocols
* Assist site management and permanent SPO teams to maintain smooth and compliant operations
* Work flexibly to meet operational requirements, including short-notice assignments
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and company security policies
Person Specification
* Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail
* Professional appearance and high personal standards
* Adaptable, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm under pressure with a positive, “can-do” attitude
* Must hold a valid front-line SIA Licence
* Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle

* Report any hazards, risks, or incidents immediately to your line manager
* Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and responsibly
* Identify and report any training or equipment needs promptly
