Job Description
This position's primary purpose is to serve as a first-level supervisor for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, organize, and direct a team of non-supervisory employees in multidisciplinary engineering tasks.
* Ensure all engineering work complies with legal/regulatory standards and meets customer requirements.
* Exercise full supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
* Represent the organization and liaise with various installation and functional area partners.
Qualifications and Key Skills
* A valid UK CAT B driving license.
* A degree in an appropriate scientific field plus one year of specialized experience as per the required key skills below
* Or
* HND/City and Guilds/NVQ Level 5/6 in an appropriate scientific field. Progressively more years of specialized experience (as outlined in the key skills) are required for qualifications below degree level.
1. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of multidisciplinary professional engineering to effectively apply engineering theories, principles, and concepts to areas of responsibility.
2. Knowledge of the principles of planning, program management, and standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
5. Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.
6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
Other Significant Facts
1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations. This position may also be coded as mission essential.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
4. Work hours are flexible to meet mission needs. Overtime and other duties appropriate to your grade and skill set may be assigned.
5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
6. The incumbent may be required to acquire and maintain a Level 2 or 3 certification in Test & Evaluation, Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering-Systems Engineering, or Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering-Program Systems Engineer.
7. For these positions, for‑cause drug testing (due to suspected substance abuse or a safety mishap) may be required, which is an exception to the standard LNDH program policy.
NOTE: You will require a UK NATO security clearance and a right to work in the UK
