Overview

Specialist Speech & Language Therapist role at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust – Part-time (22.5 hours).

We are seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within the County North Team. This post within our Early Intervention Speech and Language Therapy contract with Nottinghamshire County Council focuses on providing early identification and support for pre-school children with SLCN. The Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service provides support to children with a range of communication and eating and drinking needs across Nottingham City and County.

Responsibilities

* Provide early identification and support for pre-school children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN).
* The post involves supporting children in a variety of locations including homes, family hubs, nurseries, and community venues as we move to a more place-based service.
* Support service-wide transformation work as we move to being increasingly 'place-based'.
* Consolidate and develop further skills and expertise working with pre-school children with a wide range of SLCN, as well as supporting staff and the team caseload.
* Open to experienced Band 5s or existing Band 6s.

Qualifications and requirements

* Part-time Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist with a keen interest in working with pre-school children with a wide range of SLCN in community settings.
* Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
* Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change.
* Note: This post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. The Trust would not sponsor for a Skilled Worker/Health & Care visa. Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship at https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa.

Additional information

The post offers excellent support networks, regular supervision, and access to internal training. It provides an opportunity to work with pre-school children with SLCN and to support staff and the team caseload within a transforming service.
