Children and Young Person's Worker
The successful candidate will be a compassionate and proactive professional with a strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on children, skilled in delivering direct support and engagement activities that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive outcomes for children living in refuge.
Responsibilities
This role will provide direct support to children and young people affected by domestic abuse, delivering tailored 1:1 sessions, group programmes, and educational activities to promote positive outcomes. The postholder will follow up on initial support plans, maintain accurate and child-focused case records, and advocate for children's access to essential services. The role involves planning and coordinating activities, overseeing volunteers, and offering emotional support to help children build life skills and self-esteem.
A strong understanding of child protection policies and safeguarding procedures is essential, along with a commitment to confidentiality and flexible service delivery. The candidate will also engage in training, supervision, and contribute to the wider team as required.
