Registered Manager - Residential & Nursing Care Location: Newport area Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday-Friday Contract: Permanent Service Size: 30-bed home About the Service A well-established 32-bed care home providing high-quality residential and nursing care for older people. The service offers both long-term and respite placements in a comfortable, well-staffed environment, supported by a strong and experienced clinical team. The home is divided into two areas - residential and nursing - enabling focused, personalised care. It maintains an excellent reputation for high standards, compassion, and professionalism. The Role We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to oversee the smooth running of this stable, well-supported home. This is not a heavily hands-on role but one focused on oversight, leadership, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will ensure compliance, maintain staff performance, and uphold the service's reputation for excellent care. This opportunity suits a confident, organised manager - whether from a residential or nursing background - who enjoys leading through people, processes, and standards rather than day-to-day care delivery. Key Responsibilities Provide strong leadership and operational oversight across both care units. Ensure compliance with CQC (or CIW) regulations and internal policies. Monitor quality, staffing, and care delivery to maintain exceptional standards. Support and develop the existing care and clinical teams. Manage resources, budgets, and audits effectively. Promote a positive, caring, and person-centred culture throughout the home. About You Experienced Home Manager or Deputy ready for a step up. Background in residential, nursing, or dual-registered services. Strong understanding of CQC/CIW compliance and quality frameworks. NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards). Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Calm, professional, and supportive management style. Working Pattern 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Flexible approach to meet service needs. Supported by a capable and stable clinical team.
