Credit Analyst
Contract: 12 Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Location: London (On-site, 4 days per week)
Salary: £85,000 + Bonus + Benefits
About the Opportunity
A leading international banking group with global assets exceeding $400 billion is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst for a 12-month maternity cover contract within its expanding London operation. The London office encompasses private, commercial, wholesale, and retail banking activities, offering a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Credit Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in providing independent credit risk assessments to internal committees, covering a diverse portfolio of global financial institutions, sovereigns, corporates, and individuals. Your analysis will combine quantitative and qualitative approaches, evaluating financial accounts, macroeconomic factors, and management quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct credit risk analysis for a portfolio of financial institutions and corporate borrowers, ensuring timely and accurate assessments.
* Monitor and manage ongoing credit risk for assigned accounts, providing regular updates on any factors impacting risk.
* Assess new and renewal credit applications, preparing detailed financial spreadsheets and credit analysis reports using CAMEL methodology where appropriate.
* Gather and interpret information from rating agencies, brokers, banks, and market sources to inform risk assessments.
* Structure and present credit proposals, ensuring high-quality submissions to the Credit Committee.
* Collaborate with Credit Administration, Control, and product units to ensure effective portfolio management and risk limit adjustments.
* Prepare periodic reports for Senior Management and undertake special studies as required.
* Support the Credit Committee as secretary when needed, ensuring accurate documentation and timely filing of decisions and minutes.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in bank credit analysis, with exposure to corporates, banks, and NBFIs.
* Strong written English and numeracy skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
