Hours: This role is an hourly paid, fixed-term role. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but flexibility is required as it may be necessary to adjust this pattern to meet the needs of the business. We will provide as much notice as possible for any changes.
You'll be expected to work weekends, bank holidays, etc., as we operate 363 days a year. Hours are between 9am-6pm, with shifts up to 8 hours.
Salary: £12.25 per hour.
Duration: Fixed Term Contract until the end of March 2026
Interview date: 28th or 29th August
For this role, you will need to complete our online assessment instead of submitting a CV or traditional application. This helps us understand your strengths and provides more information about the role.
What it's like to work here: To learn more about working in a food and beverage team for the National Trust, please see the attached full role profile.
What you'll be doing: As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, directly engaging with visitors. You’ll welcome and assist everyone who visits the café. This is a fast-paced environment, so teamwork and adaptability are essential.
You will aim to understand and meet customer needs, help with food and drink presentation, and maintain high standards. Attention to detail is crucial for displays and signage. Occasionally, you may assist the kitchen team with food preparation. We will provide an induction tailored to the role, training on allergens and food safety, and mentoring as needed. Opportunities for further professional development are also available.
