Job Description:
Taylor Root is working with a dual-listed (NYSE/FTSE) leader in the sports betting, iGaming, and entertainment space. They have significant international presence, top-tier brands, and use cutting-edge technology. The business is looking to hire an Interim Commercial Counsel for a 12-month Fixed Term Contract to start in November.
This is a role where you’ll be sat in a legal team that is supporting leading business lines, and high-performing, international brands. This is a very client-facing role and one that has lots of breadth and pace.
Responsibilities include:
* Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g. media, advertising and marketing agreements, technology, software and SaaS agreements, game and data licensing agreements, licensing agreements, data processing agreements, payment processing agreements, website terms and conditions, promotions terms, services agreements, recruitment agency terms, and other miscellaneous agreements).
* Working with product and finance teams to support from a legal perspective to appropriately advise on project delivery.
* Support with the continued improvement of processes and precedents.
* Updating terms and conditions for different brands and markets.
This person can either come directly from a private practice role or be moving between in-house roles.
Key Requirements:
* UK qualified solicitor, or solicitor qualified in another common-law jurisdiction.
* Ideally, at least 3+ PQE.
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
* Experience drafting customer/consumer terms and conditions.
* Previous experience in the gaming or a regulated industry is a plus but not essential.
* Proactive and positive approach.
* Strong interpersonal skills and good team player.
* Hybrid working: the team currently do 2 days/week in a Central London office.
