About the Role
We are seeking a Qualified Surveyor/Estimator to join our established and profitable Property Services Division on a permanent basis.
Our Property Services Division specialises in insurance loss repair and reinstatement works following floods, fires, escapes of water, lightning strikes, building defects and similar incidents. Projects span domestic properties, multiple-occupancy residential buildings, educational facilities, industrial units, and commercial premises.
Projects are both negotiated and tendered, typically ranging from:

£10,000 – £500,000 (tendered and negotiated works)
*
£20,000 – £100,000 (measured term/schedule of rates projects)
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who is keen to develop their career within this specialist sector of the construction industry.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Much of our work is repeat business, and we pride ourselves on long-standing relationships built on trust and cooperation. We are therefore looking for a strong team player who shares this approach.
The role will involve working from our Gloucester base, travelling to sites, and some home working. Ideally, candidates will reside within 45 minutes of Gloucester.
Key Responsibilities :

Preparing, building up, and pricing estimates for tendered and negotiated projects
*
Measuring works on site and from drawings
*
Calculating quantities and estimated net costs
*
Compiling and submitting quotations
*
Negotiating and agreeing contract sums
*
Preparing and agreeing monthly valuations and final account forecasts
*
Preparing interim and final invoices
*
Pricing and agreeing variations and final accounts
*
Attending subcontractor pre-order meetings and placing subcontract orders
*
Checking and processing subcontractor payments
*
Agreeing subcontractor variations and final accounts
*
Attending site and team meetings
*
Maintaining accurate project files and records
You will report to and receive support from the Managing Surveyor and Associate Director.
About You
The ideal candidate will:

Have strong knowledge of construction technology and building regulations
*
Have experience with JCT Contracts & Subcontracts
*
Have experience with measured term/schedule of rates projects
*
Demonstrate strong commercial awareness
*
Have a good understanding of Health & Safety requirements
*
Be confident working independently with some guidance
