The Trust is seeking a Paediatric Liaison Specialist to contribute to the strategic development and operational implementation of the safeguarding agenda across the Trust.
Job Overview
The post holder will develop, promote, and facilitate appropriate referral and liaison between hospital services and community practitioners. The role involves acting as a professional resource and link between Acute, Community, and Primary Care services, establishing good communications and providing specialist advice on safeguarding children.
Main Duties
The post holder will improve and facilitate robust methods of communication, enabling professionals to identify vulnerability indicators in children and families. The role involves participating in audit, research, and development, as well as providing day-to-day management of the Paediatric Liaison Administrator.
Key responsibilities include:
* Vision, Strategy, and Business Development: providing specialist knowledge, advice, and guidance on safeguarding children
* Leadership, Culture, and Values: initiating, developing, and reviewing policies to promote best practice and safe working within related healthcare settings
* Governance, Quality, and Performance: providing specialist knowledge, skills, and experience of the liaison role and acting as an advisor to others
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
* RN/RSCN/RM/RNLD qualification
* Current NMC registration and evidence of continual professional development
* Experience of working with children
* An understanding of collaborative working with health and social care providers
* Demonstrable knowledge of reflective practice
* Teaching experience and report writing/IT skills
