Ward 8C is an 8 bedded benign gynaecology ward incorporating the Gynaecology Assessment Unit.
We are currently recruiting for a band 6, Ward Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is an opportunity for a dynamic and committed individual to join our friendly team of nurses who work within a wider team of multidisciplinary specialists and medical staff.
The successful candidate will support the ward manager and practice development nurse in ensuring high quality care is provided for our patients undergoing emergency surgery, including patients undergoing management of miscarriage and medical/surgical termination of pregnancy and those attending the Gynaecology Assessment Unit for assessment and procedures.

Main duties of the job
The junior sister/charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of clinical areas including assessment of care needs, development, implementation and evaluation of care and the setting of standards on a shift. To deputise for the senior charge nurse/senior sister in his or her absence when necessary.
To ensure continuity and high standards of care including sharing ideas, information and feedback in order to empower patients and members of the interdisciplinary team.
To take proactive role in producing accurate and complete records of activities and communications consistent with legislation, policies and procedures.
