Town Planner
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well‑established architectural and planning practice in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Tunbridge Wells.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Town Planner to join a design‑led consultancy, working closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams on a variety of residential and mixed‑use developments. The successful Town Planner will play a key role in shaping planning strategies and supporting projects from concept through to approval.
The Role
As a Town Planner, you will be involved in managing planning applications, providing strategic advice, and working collaboratively with internal design teams.
You will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and have the opportunity to further develop your career as a Town Planner within a supportive and creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
* Producing high‑quality planning reports, statements, and supporting documents
* Providing planning advice to clients and internal teams
* Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders
* Attending meetings, site visits, and consultations
* Supporting project delivery from early‑stage design through to determination
* Assisting with project coordination and programme management
* Contributing to business development and networking activities
What We Are Looking For
* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline
* MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership
* Experience within a planning consultancy, architectural practice, or similar environment
* Strong understanding of the UK planning systemExcellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
* A proactive and collaborative approach
