About the Role:
As a Market & Bus Station Attendant, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the vibrancy and cleanliness of our market and bus station. You'll be the go-to person for customers and traders, ensuring a safe, welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Cleaning & Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, and clean floors and surfaces.
- Operate mechanical cleaning equipment, including scrubbing machines and pressure washers.
- Maintain cleanliness in public and trader toilets, as well as the Food Court.
Waste Management:
- Collect and manage market waste, ensuring recycling protocols are followed.
- Operate waste compaction equipment and assist with heavy lifting as needed.
Security Assistance:
- Act as a security watch in the absence of designated staff, addressing any disruptive behaviour.
- Be a key holder responsible for the opening and closing of the Market.
Customer Engagement:
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer and trader queries.
- Be proactive in ensuring a litter-free environment during market hours.
Other Duties:
- Follow the specific cleaning rota and complete tasks as delegated by Market Management.
- Participate in training related to health and safety, first aid, and customer care.
What You Bring:
We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who possess:
Experience in operating cleaning machinery.
Knowledge of health & safety practises, including COSHH and PPE regulations.
A solid understanding of customer care principles.
General maintenance skills and the ability to work at heights.
Good verbal communication skills and a positive, helpful attitude.
Flexibility to work Monday to Sunday and the ability to handle short-notice schedule changes.
