Role Overview:

As an Optical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our Optometrist and Practice Manager. Your responsibilities will include providing tailored information to customers and assisting them in selecting the finest products and services, ensuring they leave feeling and looking their absolute best.

You will stay well-informed about our latest luxury product lines and exclusive promotions, enabling you to offer customers the most current and relevant information. In addition, you will collaborate closely with our team, supporting and inspiring your colleagues to contribute to the overall success and profitability of our esteemed practice.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

* Deliver exceptional customer service with the utmost professionalism and sophistication.

* Achieve exemplary sales performance, reflecting a deep understanding of luxury products and client needs.

* Maintain an in-depth knowledge of our exclusive merchandise and stay updated on the latest trends.

* Ensure the store is elegantly displayed according to company standards, maintaining a luxurious atmosphere.

* Proficiently operate the POS system and manage all transactions accurately.

* Exhibit meticulous attention to detail; review prescriptions carefully and identify any special needs, consulting with an Optician as necessary.

* Execute tasks with accuracy and thoroughness, even in a high-pressure environment.

* Proactively address situations involving unsatisfied customers, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.

* Assist clients in selecting frames and lenses that perfectly align with their lifestyle and prescription requirements.

* Familiarity with Optix Software is advantageous, and you will be trained in using the Optos Monaco.

Knowledge and Skills:

* Management skills are warmly welcomed.

* Strong computer proficiency to navigate modern retail systems and applications.

* Exceptional selling skills with a focus on luxury retail.

* Excellent communication and listening abilities tailored to a high-end clientele.

* Proficient social media skills for engaging with customers online.

* Strong customer service expertise, with an emphasis on delivering a premium experience.

* Interpersonal skills that allow for building rapport with discerning customers.

* Basic literacy and numeracy skills applicable to retail.

* A proactive team player who contributes positively to the team environment.

* A keen eye for detail and the ability to perform duties with precision.

* Highly adaptable and genuinely passionate about the optical and fashion industries.

* Familiarity with luxury lens brands such as Essilor, Zeiss, Nikon, Rodenstock, and Hoya is a plus.

Education & Experience:

* GCSEs, A-Levels, and/or relevant experience in a luxury retail environment.

* Optical diplomas or specialised courses are desirable.

* Previous experience in high-end independant Optician Practices or optical fields is preferred.

-Being a qualified Dispensing Optician (DO) is a significant advantage, though not mandatory. (Salary expectations can be met)
