We’re supporting a large healthcare charity in Greater Manchester to recruit an Interim Fundraising Manager. The organisation is undergoing a major shift, its strategy is written and signed off, but the team is in flux, and leadership support is urgently needed to move things forward. This is a hands-on, high-trust role working closely with the Head of Charity. You’ll provide strategic guidance, mentor the team, and help deliver a more effective and ambitious fundraising function. You won’t just be “filling in”—you’ll be building and shaping the future of this charity. What you’ll be doing: Leading day-to-day delivery of an already agreed fundraising strategy Managing and mentoring a small, developing team Helping shape future structure, roles, and recruitment Deputising for the Head of Charity when needed Providing sound governance and fundraising compliance oversight Working flexibly—this is about impact, not clock-watching We’re looking for someone who: Brings proven senior fundraising experience (not just events or donor comms) Can confidently assess, restructure, and deliver in real time Has strong leadership instincts, without being hierarchical Ideally has some understanding of NHS-linked charity structures, but it's not essential Is calm under pressure and happy in evolving environments This role is ideal for someone who’s previously operated at Head of Fundraising, Director, or even CEO level in a small-to-medium charity and who knows how to turn ambition into structure, income, and impact. At Charity Recruit, we specialise in senior and interim recruitment exclusively for the not-for-profit sector. We understand the nuance of every brief and pride ourselves on matching the right people with the right missions. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
