About The Role
As our Head of Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping how our organisation delivers change. You’ll establish and lead a high‑performing PMO function that drives excellence in governance, planning, and portfolio delivery. By setting the standards for project management best practice, you’ll bring consistency, clarity, and transparency to how we work empowering teams to deliver successful outcomes. With your strategic insight and robust reporting, you’ll influence senior decision‑making and ensure our project and programme portfolio is effectively prioritised to support the organisation’s long‑term goals. This is a rare opportunity to create meaningful impact at both an operational and strategic level.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Set the PMO vision, strategy, and operating model, establishing standards and best‑practice methodologies.
* Lead and develop a high‑performing PMO team and build organisational delivery capability.
* Oversee the enterprise project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and informed investment decisions.
* Provide clear insights, dashboards, and reporting to support senior leadership decision‑making.
* Run governance forums, ensuring strong oversight of performance, risks, dependencies, and benefits.
* Optimise resource allocation, financial forecasting, and overall delivery efficiency through continuous improvement and effective tools.
About You
You’re an experienced PMO leader with a strong track record operating in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments. You bring deep expertise in portfolio, programme and project management, along with a proven capability in establishing governance structures and enterprise level PMO frameworks. Skilled in leading high‑performing teams, you combine strategic thinking with excellent analytical and problem‑solving capability. You’re confident working with senior leaders, able to present complex information clearly, and adept at influencing without authority.
You have hands on experience in resource planning, budgeting, and benefits management, along with a history of supporting large scale transformation and driving PMO maturity. Professional accreditation (such as MSP, MoP, P3O, PRINCE2, or Agile) is desirable. Highly organised, calm under pressure, and solutions‑focused, you bring credibility, collaboration, attention to detail, and a passion for creating structure and clarity.
