We have an opportunity for you to join our Gynaecology outpatients team at Princess Royal Hospital. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic health care support worker who is keen to develop in their role within gynaecology.
Key responsibilities
* Support patients undergoing procedures ensuring their comfort and safety.
* Ensure patients have a clear understanding of the clinical situation and are prepared to provide informed consent.
* Chaperone and assist the clinicians.
* Be an advocate and clearly present the patient/client point of view.
* Ensure appropriate stock levels and equipment availability to support the smooth running of the clinics and ward at all times.
* Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
* Report any change in patient condition or any problem or hazard within the department to the nurse in charge.
* Take observations and record as appropriate.
Person specification
* NHS experience at least 6 months.
* Care Certificate from an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation.
* NHS experience or NHS primary care experience is required or an internationally educated nurse/midwife/doctor who has worked in an acute hospital setting within recent years.
* Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills acquisition, working at a higher-level standard of care delivery, equivalent to vocational qualification level 3. This is evidenced via a portfolio of practice and/or a professional discussion.
* Outpatients experience.
