HMP Forest Bank Mental Health Nurse (Secondary team)
Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse to join the secondary mental health team delivering services in HMP Forest Bank. The role is to provide secondary mental health care within the prison setting, comparable to a community mental health team in the community.

Main duties / Responsibilities
* Manage individuals with secondary mental health service needs while in prison custody.
* Assist in the delivery and development of effective, needs-based, modern mental health services within the prison.
* Be expert in all areas of service delivery with effective communication at all times.
* Manage own caseload and utilise nursing skills and resources to provide high-quality service to all service users.
* Contribute to maintaining the CPA process throughout the legal and custodial process.
Qualifications
* Essential: RMN registration
* Essential: Completion of preceptorship programme
* Desirable: Evidence of continuous practice development related to delivering psychological interventions to individuals and groups
* Desirable: Training in psychological interventions
Knowledge and skills
* Essential: Good knowledge and experience of risk assessment and management.
* Essential: Knowledge of Mental Health Act and other mental health legislation including CPA.
* Desirable: Experience of working in offender health or within a forensic setting.
* Essential: Knowledge of factors affecting secure mental health care and the contemporary mental health agenda.
* Essential: Ability to analyse problems, gather relevant information and exercise sound judgement.
* Essential: Ability to prioritise workload, work at a fast pace and meet deadlines.
* Desirable: Ability to write reports and present information concisely; excellent organisational/time management skills.
