Buyer - Humber Refinery
Are you a procurement professional with a passion for driving value and efficiency? We’re looking for a Buyer to join our procurement team at the Humber Refinery. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials that keep our operations running smoothly.
About The Role
As a Buyer, you will provide day‑to‑day procurement support across the refinery, ensuring the prompt purchase and delivery of materials. You’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain accurate procurement records in SAP. This role is vital in supporting both routine operations and major projects, including turnarounds.
Key Responsibilities
* Procure materials using SAP in line with pre‑agreed supply agreements and P2P processes.
* Support project teams with materials systems expertise.
* Maintain and create outline agreements and info records.
* Coordinate offsite repairs for stock and non‑stock items.
* Negotiate contractual terms and conditions, including drafting.
* Drive supplier performance improvements using SRM tools.
* Expedite orders and ensure timely delivery of critical materials.
* Resolve invoice queries and maintain purchasing documentation.
* Identify cost‑saving opportunities and log contributions in the procurement savings log.
What We’re Looking For
* Strong knowledge of procurement strategies, contract law, and negotiation.
* Proficiency in SAP (MRP/MM/PM/PS and SRM modules).
* Excellent communication, coordination, and planning skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) or a relevant business degree.
