Overview

Job Overview: Shift pattern 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off. Work collaboratively as part of the estates team to provide a full operation, maintenance, engineering and building electrical service that meets statutory and contractual obligations. Work efficiently and effectively to deliver assigned planned and reactive maintenance. Use PDA technology to evidence compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, and personal productivity. Carry out diagnostic checks and fault finding utilising multiskilled knowledge and experience supporting all estates teams within your qualifications and/or abilities. Complete all work related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.


Main Duties

* Support your Line Manager in all commercial aspects of the services ensuring statutory and contract compliance.
* Ensure assets work properly, are maintained in accordance with the contract, relevant Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Memoranda (HBM), Operation and Maintenance Manuals (O&M), and Manufacturer's Instructions; and maintained in a good state of repair, evidenced by accurate and complete equipment repair and maintenance CAFM records.
* Be pro-active and have the ability to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults.
* Ability to record work accurately on work sheets and computer-based systems.
* Review and propose recommendations to improve productivity and the efficiency of set routines and work schedules with your line manager.
* Challenge and promote safe working; ensure Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) compliance is at the forefront of what is delivered as evidenced by application of Mitie\'s LiveSafe procedures, continuous improvement of Hazard Observations, no Lost Time Accidents (LTA) or serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases or specified dangerous occurrences as defined by RIDDOR.
* Ensure effective Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are used for all works carried out by Mitie employees or subcontractors as evidenced by documented, readily available RAMS.
* Perform related duties as assigned within your scope of practice. All Estates department employees are expected to cover for each other during holidays, leave or absences.
* Carry out first line assessment, fault finding, repair, substitute service and/or safe isolation as required. This will involve flexible multi-tasking across all trades (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, joinery, fabric, etc.).
* Pro-active and positive approach to work.
* Must have sound interpersonal skills and pay attention to detail.
* Present oneself in a clean and tidy manner to represent the company professionally, utilising the uniform and PPE issued.
* Provide excellent customer service to the client and patients/visitors, ensuring work order progress is communicated in a timely manner.
* Ensure clients\' operational procedures are always adhered to.
* Obtain appropriate authorisation for access into restricted areas from the client\'s representative as required.
* Able to carry tools and equipment by hand up to 20 kg.
* Able to ascend/descend vertical access equipment; able to work at height.


What we are looking for

* City and guilds 2360 Parts 2 & 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Served a recognised trade training scheme to NVQ level 3 minimum or equivalent.
* IEE 18th Edition Regulations.
* City and Guilds 2391 inspection and testing or equivalent.
* Experience in a maintenance environment; hospital experience is advantageous.
* Highly motivated and driven by social responsibility to achieve the highest levels of delivery in a healthcare environment.
* Ability to undertake facets of Electrical maintenance and installation requirements as required in the scope of the contract.
* Be pro-active and have the ability to work under pressure in a calm and positive way.
* Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
* To undertake NHS HTM training as required for appointment as competent/authorised persons.
