TheHepatology Research Team is recruiting!
The Research and Innovation Department is continuing its exciting expansion. We have several research specialties, and the Hepatology research portfolio is looking for a Research Staff Nurse/Midwife. We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated individual with a keen interest in research to work within the Hepatology team.
This is a part-time post (0.6 WTE) over 3 days, with a temporary 12-month contract due to funding. The position is based at St James's Hospital, Beckett Street, Leeds, LS9 7TF.
The post holder will contribute actively to the conduct, coordination, and delivery of the Hepatology Research Portfolio. Responsibilities include caring for participants enrolled in clinical research studies, coordinating and delivering patient-related trial activities, and managing associated administrative tasks.
High standards of clinical care, safety, patient satisfaction, compliance with trust policies, study protocols, and relevant legislation are essential. The post involves working alongside industry partners, the NIHR Clinical Research Network Yorkshire and Humber, and colleagues in neighboring establishments.
Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities
Job Purpose: The post holder will ensure the safe delivery of direct and indirect care and source data collection for clinical research studies, in accordance with UK Medicines for Human Use Clinical Trial Regulations.
Responsibilities include assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans for trial participants, providing patient-centered care, and supporting clinical trial participants to ensure a high-quality experience.
The role also involves raising awareness of research within LTHT, offering research opportunities as part of standard care, and supporting clinical teams with research-related matters, maintaining clinical skills, and contributing to clinical service during times of need.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
Qualifications: Registered Nurse Level 1 (RN Adult or RN Child) or HCPC registered AHP; completed Preceptorship; willing to undergo relevant training, including ICH-GCP.
Skills: Literacy, numeracy, accurate drug calculations, good communication, IT proficiency, organizational skills, team development skills, and clinical skills relevant to the specialty.
Knowledge: Current issues in research delivery and nursing, professional standards.
Personal Attributes: Teamwork, commitment to personal development, compassion, enthusiasm, motivation, flexibility, professionalism, and courage.

* Ability to fulfill Occupational Health requirements.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (Level 1) or HCPC registered AHP.
Experience
* Current issues in healthcare and research, awareness of research roles, basic research methodologies, understanding of research ethics and drug development.
