The Service & Team
The commissioning team supports and leads commissioning across the Together for Families Directorate across three thematic areas: Young People, Families and Additional Needs. The role holder will have a focused area of work but is expected to work across all thematic areas.
The role holder will take the lead on an area of work within Children and Family Services and will include representing the Council with stakeholders inside and outside of the organisation.
The Role

The role holder will be expected to take a creative, visible and robust approach with partnership working throughout, persuading and influencing other stakeholder commissioners as well as delivering through more formal mechanisms such as procurement.
The role holder will contribute to the work of the team to provide strategic leadership to the change process and champion an overall vision of the future. They will play an integral role in the development and implementation of commissioning strategies, take the lead on multiple elements, ensuring that services are commissioned in a way that focuses on best practice, reflective learning, delivers good quality service provision and cost‑effectiveness. The role holder will need to be creative in their approach, identify additional social value and community assets to meet escalating need within reducing budgets. They will manage effective planning, commissioning and contract management with all partners and stakeholders across health, education and social care services to ensure that good quality and cost‑effective services are available to improve the well‑being of the target population in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Working Pattern
Monday‑Friday, 37 hours per week with flexible working options available such as compressed hours and hybrid work arrangements.
