Quantity Surveyor Wanted Gloucestershire!
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is looking for a the next step intheir career who is based near or in a commutable distance to the Gloucestershire area.This role would suit someone who is looking for career development or who is seeking a new challenge with a highly regarded construction outfit. We are open to applications from both consultancy and main contracting Quantity Surveyors. We are also open to relocators with UK experience. The Role
As Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Lead you will work closely with the project team and business development team, to prepare cost estimates of the work at the onset of the project and when in progress.
You will be pricing and tracking of variations both internally and externally, and how this may affect project costs. You will be required to oversee the contract terms and conditions and effectively manage processes for pricing submissions, notifications, and extensions of time. Alongside this you will also create reports to show project cost performance. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable developing client relationships and understanding the importance of framework clients and how they should be treated.
Main Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities will include:
* Collation and submission of client variations in accordance with NEC3 and 4 requirements.
* Analysis and administration of sub-contractor variations in accordance with NEC requirements.
* Assist in establishing client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies (live project work and post-contract variations).
* Issuing of sub-contractor tender enquiries.
* Collation and issuing of sub-contractor orders.
* Monitoring of project costs, including monthly cost value reconciliations.
* Submission of client applications for payment.
* Administration & payment of sub-contractor applications for payment.
* Regular visits to client project sites to review progress.
* Assist in preparation and analysis of project costs for tender contract documents.
* Perform risk, value management and cost control during the project.
* Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
* Other contract administration requirements as required.
About You
* Knowledge and experience of NEC2/3 contracting is ideally wanted and NEC4 is also desirable but not essential. We would consider candidates without NEC experience if you are happy to be trained up on these contracts.
* Knowledge and experience of construction projects and materials.
* Demonstrate good knowledge in product specification and managing costs within the supply chain.
* Experience of dealing with high value clients and sub-contractors.
* Has worked on high value projects (ideally between £1 - £35 million plus).
* Hold a degree or similar qualification such as NVQ Level 6 or HND in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (RICS status is desirable if not essential) or other Construction related courses.
* Have extensive experience of having delivered large-scale construction projects across a variety of sectors.
* Has at least 3 - 5 years UK construction experience.
* Have previous work experience with an established main contractor or Project Management Consultancy.
