As a Sous Chef, you will be part of a team of up to 12 staff, leading the kitchen team to prepare meals for approximately 250 students and staff, including breakfast, lunch, supper, and snacks.

You will assist the Kitchen Manager with menu management, food production planning, purchasing, and stock control.

You will contribute to menu development, maintain cleanliness, and oversee general kitchen housekeeping.

Shift Pattern Overview:

* 5 days over 6, alternating between 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 11:30 AM–7:30 PM shifts
* Closed Sundays
* Every third weekend off

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist with menu planning, food production, and purchasing within budget
* Ensure cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
* Manage stock effectively to reduce waste and stay within budget
* Maintain health and safety compliance, including food safety regulations
* Train and develop kitchen staff
* Ensure adherence to uniform and PPE policies

Outside of Term Time:

The school also hosts private lettings and international student programs during Easter and summer schools.

Person Specification

* Excellent culinary skills with relevant experience
* Passionate about food and service excellence
* NVQ Level 2 in professional cookery or equivalent (desirable)
