We require a Medical Receptionist to join our friendly reception team to ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to our patients and visitors to the practice.
The candidate should have a flexible attitude, a willingness to develop, and be adaptable to change.
Main duties of the job
1. Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
2. Facilitate effective communication between patients, primary healthcare team members, secondary care, and other healthcare agencies.
3. Undertake administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice.

Job responsibilities
1. Manage appointments, visits, and care navigation in line with protocol.
2. Perform computer data entry, processing, and recording in accordance with practice procedures.
3. Handle telephone and face-to-face enquiries from the public.
4. Make and cancel appointments with clinicians as required.
5. File correspondence as necessary.
6. File prescriptions for collection.
7. Open internal and external mail.
8. Scan documents and forward them to relevant staff.
9. Perform photocopying as needed.
10. Carry out any other duties relevant to the grading of the post.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience working within the healthcare sector.
* Experience in primary care is desirable.
* Experience working in a GP practice.
