Would you love a new part‑time job where you can make a difference and be that person that someone can rely on? You’re in luck as we’re looking for two new colleagues to join our amazing Team Glenorchy in Lennoxtown on a permanent, part‑time (20, 25 or 30 hours per week) basis.
About the role
As a Support Practitioner, your focus will be to help the individuals we support with all aspects of their daily living, including shopping, finances, meal preparation, personal care and household tasks. You will also support them with hobbies and interests such as football, singing and both indoor and outdoor activities.
About You
We don’t recruit on experience and qualifications; we’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team. We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills to be successful in your new role. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7 qualification, PVG and yearly SSSC registration fees).
* A caring and compassionate attitude
* The ability to work well in a team
* Good communication and organisational skills
* A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
* Confidence in the use of computers
* The ability to cook (baking would be a bonus too!)
Shift patterns and pay
Shifts usually fall between 0700 and 2200 hours. Sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays also form part of the rota on a rotational basis. Sleepovers are not part of your contracted hours; you’ll receive an additional payment of £107.80 for every sleepover shift you work. We cannot adjust these posts around a university or college timetable and/or placements.
If you don’t live in Lennoxtown and are not a driver, you must be able to travel for your shifts as public transport links are limited.
Requirements
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. You will also need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us. If you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government or police authority.
