Job Overview
Position: Band 7 Neonatal Occupational Therapist (fixed term/secondment 12 months until 09.10.2026 due to maternity cover). The role is based at the Sub Regional Neonatal Critical Care Centre (SuRNICC) at Glan Clwyd Hospital, Bodelwyddan, North Wales.
Main Responsibilities
* Key member of the multidisciplinary neonatal team, supporting clinical and therapeutic care for mothers and babies.
* Deliver and evaluate neonatal occupational therapy services, including assessment, intervention and service development.
* Participate locally and nationally in neonatal developments as part of the Neonatal Clinical Network group across BCUHB.
* Collaborate with physiotherapy, speech therapy and dietetics colleagues and other specialist units.
* Support the integration of evidence‑based practice and the evaluation of new service delivery models.
Person Specification – Essential Criteria
* Registered as an Occupational Therapist with HCPC.
* Extensive experience of working in a similar senior level role within neonatal or paediatric assessment and intervention.
* Evidence of service development within the current role.
* Experience supervising and delegating to junior staff.
* Able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
* Experience working within the National Health Service or Social Services.
Person Specification – Desirable Criteria
* Post‑graduate learning at M level or equivalent.
* Ability to speak Welsh.
* Management experience within the Health Service.
* Evidence of service development within children’s services.
