Overview

Are you currently working as a Head of Business Development/Business Development Director, looking for an exciting long term challenge with a growing, ambitious business? Do you have a proven track record of developing business within the regulated sector space, specifically Nuclear, High integrity, Rail, Defence? We are working in partnership with a leading Engineering and construction business whose head office is in the North West and that delivers large scale projects nationally. They currently have a requirement for a Head of Business Development. This is a national role but requires regular attendance at the Manchester head office. Reporting to the Managing Director, this position involves overseeing all business related strategy, including tenders, marketing and long term business growth plans.


Role Responsibilities

* Drive sustainable growth, securing new business and enhancing the company’s presence across the regulated sector markets.
* Oversee and manage the pre-construction business, including Business Development managers, Estimators, Marketing and communications.
* Develop and maintain current business pipeline as well as developing new business pipelines in line with company growth strategy goals.
* Oversee and deliver high quality bid submissions and tenders.
* Work closely with the head of marketing to oversee the company’s marketing campaigns, promotional material and participation at industry events.
* Work closely with the MD/senior leadership team to align BD strategy with business growth plans.
* Deliver compliant tender bids ensuring adherence to industry standards and quality.


Role Requirements

* Proven track record in a similar role as Head of Business Development/Business Development Director.
* Strong industry knowledge within High integrity sectors (Nuclear, Rail or Defence).
* A strong team leader, capable of overseeing and inspiring a team.
* A strategic thinker, with the ability to help grow and deliver business.
* A good understanding of marketing and communications.
* Capable of operating at a senior management level as part of a leadership team.
* Located within the North West or willing to travel there on a regular basis.

This Head of Business Development position offers a generous basic salary, package and bonus/commission scheme. They are looking for a high‑level performer and are prepared to pay well to secure them.
