Events Customer Advisor Braintree, Essex £13.80 per hour Part-time (2 days a week) temporary until March 2026 with potential to extend About the Role We are recruiting an Events Customer Advisor on behalf of Braintree District Council to support their Venues and Events team. This is a hands on, customer facing role supporting the smooth day to day running of three council venues used for meetings, conferences, events and weddings. This role is site based due to the nature of the work and requires flexibility to support events as needed. Working Hours and Days • Working hours between 08:00 and 16:00 or 09:00 and 17:00 • Working days Wednesday and Friday • Overtime available • Some evening and weekend work on a rota basis What You’ll Do • Set up and clear down rooms in line with customer requirements • Support events across three council venues as required • Serve pre prepared refreshments to customers • Act as a friendly point of contact for customer enquiries and bookings • Build positive relationships to deliver a high quality customer experience • Open and close premises securely • Promote council venues and support revenue targets • Clean and tidy venues following events • Identify faults or issues within venues and escalate appropriately • Report defects and support health and safety standards • Supervise contractors when required • Support council led events held at any of the venues What We’re Looking For • Experience in a customer service, events, hospitality or facilities based role • A practical and proactive approach to work • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work across multiple sites when required • Awareness of health and safety in a customer facing environment • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends on a rota Who Might Suit This Role This role would suit someone with experience as a Customer Service Assistant, Events Assistant, Venue Assistant, Facilities Assistant, Hospitality Assistant or Front of House staff. Experience from local authority, leisure, hospitality, events, hotels or conference venues would transfer well.
