We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our psychological workforce in the Cambridge Adult Locality Team.
The Adult Locality Team provides high quality care to people aged - who are experiencing mental health difficulties in the severe range with additional concerns about safety and/or functional impairment. The service consists of supportive and well-established multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals from a range of backgrounds. You will work with a team of psychologists covering Cambridge and the surrounding local area. The post involves working on a psychology pathway with adults experiencing psychosis, schizophrenia and related disorders.
You will support the delivery of Brief Psychological Interventions in the service as well as provide support for psychology meetings. You will receive professional supervision from a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
Main duties of the job
To provide a trauma-informed and formulation-driven psychological service to clients within the Adult Locality Team.
This role includes working directly with clients.
We work closely with other services and are keen to continue to develop psychological interventions with specific client groups to meet the needs of the local population.
This role will also include supporting the work of the psychological workforce and the wider multi-disciplinary teams through activities such as collecting, analysing and presenting data relating to psychological work in the service, such as audit data or data related to demand and capacity and clinical effectiveness.
You will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist or Clinical or Counselling Psychologist and within professional guidelines of conduct and ethics and the overall framework of organisational policies and procedures.
Supporting and developing the psychological workforce is of upmost importance to us. We encourage our Assistant Psychologists to develop their skills and knowledge and seek to prepare them to progress to the next stages of their careers. We believe that research is central to the development and maintenance of effective teams and interventions. We have close links with the University of East Anglia's ClinPsyD programme.
