Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s SW - Assessment Team. This pivotal role involves working closely with children and families to ensure their safety and well-being. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing support plans, and collaborating with various stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and risks in accordance with statutory guidelines.
* Developing and implementing effective intervention plans tailored to individual family situations.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
* Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure holistic support for children and families.
* Participating in court proceedings and providing expert testimony when required.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
* A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
* Registration with Social Work England.
* Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in assessment and intervention.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
* Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively.
