We are looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12‑month contract. Based in Milton Keynes with hybrid working, you’ll support Accounts Payable and Receivable processes, ensuring accurate posting, VAT compliance, and effective working capital management. You’ll also support transformation projects by applying strong data practices and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
Payables accounting
* Process purchase invoices
* Support purchase invoice inquiries from the Business Unit to ensure compliance and efficiency
* Process expense transactions into the ledgers
* Perform supplier statement reconciliations
* Support the delivery of internal and external audit documentation
Receivables accounting
* Enter sales invoices into our system
* Perform credit control tasks
* Support the AR team lead with knowledge of customers & outstanding balances for the calculation of bad debt provisions
Ledger activities
* Maintain and optimise the supplier & customer master records
* Daily bank reconciliations
Qualifications
* The ability to deliver to tight timescales and deadlines consistently
* Excellent day to day planning and organisational skills
* Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, practicality, reliability, flexibility, and results oriented
* Exceptional communication skills and interpersonal relations at all levels
* The ability to engage and influence colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives
* Sound bookkeeping knowledge
