The Group Head of Data Governance and Trust is responsible for driving the Group’s Data usability and reliability, this role will ensure that Data is treated as a strategic asset across the organisation. The role will support in the creation of key business-centric governance frameworks that create strong Data quality and trust. The role will ensure effective Data standards are in place, alongside enabling Data that is well governed, ethically used and compliant, whilst acting as a senior authority on Data trust.
What are you responsible for?
Key Responsibilities:
1. Defines frameworks and standards that will support local Data leaders to classify and rationalise their Data products.
2. Lead the evolution of the Group Data Marketplace to provide a seamless discovery experience, ensuring that Data is easy to find, understand and consume.
3. Define and implement lean, consistent Data standards across the Group to reduce fragmentation and lower the barriers to cross-entity Data sharing.
4. Work with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams / functions to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical data controls.
5. Work with relevant risk and ethics teams / functions to establish practical guardrails for ethical AI and Data usage, ensuring that trust and privacy are embedded into the product lifecycle without stifling innovation.
6. Foster a culture of Data accountability within business units / entities.
7. Provide assurance to senior leadership that data related risks are understood, managed, and monitored.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
11. Significant senior level experience in Data governance, Data management, risk, or related disciplines within complex or regulated organisations.
12. Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data ethics, privacy, and responsible AI.
13. Experience designing and embedding enterprise wide governance models that are practical and value focused.
14. Strong strategic thinking with the ability to operate at both executive and delivery levels
15. Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
Internal / External Relationships
16. Build strong relationships with executive leaders, directors and senior stakeholders to shape priorities and influence outcomes.
17. Work with key governance teams Group wide to support the design and embedding of robust Governance standards and frameworks
