Assistant Team Manager – Fostering Service
Grade: N09
About the Role
Assist the Team Manager in delivering high‑quality fostering services. Key responsibilities include:
* Accommodation searches and liaising with placement providers
* Linking and matching children and carers with suitable homes
* Decision‑making that prioritises children’s needs, safety and wellbeing
* Supervising staff and providing day‑to‑day leadership, advice and professional guidance
* Contributing to service development and deputising for the Team Manager when required
* Managing unsociable hours and maintaining a flexible approach to meet the needs of children and carers
About You
Required qualifications and experience:
* Recognised social work qualification
* Registered with Social Work England
* At least three years post‑qualifying experience
Desired qualities and skills:
* Strong knowledge of current legislation, guidance and best practice
* Well‑developed skills in direct work with children and carers
* Trauma‑informed and restorative approach to practice
* Experience in fostering, placement work or accommodation‑based services (particularly welcomed)
