Job Description
The postholder will be an integral part of the senior team within the School with a wide variety of duties relating to all Education-related activities. It is a very dynamic and interesting role involving interaction with a wide variety of people, both internal and external to the institution.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of education administration across the School. The postholder will manage a team of professional services staff and ensure the smooth running of all programmes, including the MBChB. They will also lead on quality assurance, accreditation, curriculum development, and international partnerships.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and possess extensive expertise in higher education administration, particularly in medical education. They will have comprehensive sector knowledge and experience of managing complex systems, procedures, and teams. A proven ability to think strategically and contribute to both operational and strategic planning is essential.
They should demonstrate high-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and a commitment to achieving high standards. Familiarity with NHS procedures and national health sector issues is important, as is the ability to connect medical and educational aspects of programmes such as the MBChB.
Strong IT skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and experience in process review and business improvement are required. The candidate must be highly organised yet flexible, able to adapt to change and unexpected challenges, and capable of handling sensitive and confidential issues with professionalism.
Prior to employment, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate their right to work in the UK. This role may be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route under the UKVI immigration rules but is dependent on factors specific to the candidate and if tradeable points can be used under the rules.
