Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with an innate feel for precision mechatronic devices to play a crucial role in advancing our mission. You will design robust, manufacturable detailed designs for our robotic manufacturing system, taking ownership of critical modules and guiding the team toward stable and reliable solutions. You thrive in a collaborative environment, tackling complex challenges with precision and diligence.
Qualifications
* A strong background in Mechanical Engineering Design, gained either by degree or vocational route.
* Proven, hands‑on experience developing and delivering products into manufacture.
* Able to construct detailed tolerance analyses and use appropriate analytical techniques to aid your design work.
* Highly skilled and fast in the use of 3D CAD (ideally SolidWorks).
* Demonstrable hands‑on experience in complex precision devices in the 10’s‑microns to 10’s‑mm length‑scale.
* Deep experience of material and manufacturing method selection, and ability to develop accurate technical documentation to BS8888 including GD&Ts.
* Experience using design tools such as FMEA and strong analytical skills to move quickly and to identify and mitigate technical risks early in the design process.
* Experience within medical devices, consumer product, automotive, aerospace, digital printing.
* This is a full‑time on‑site position at our campus in Melbourn.
