Consultant in Acute Medicine – Permanent Post
This is a permanent post at Ipswich Hospital. The post holder will work as a consultant in Acute Medicine, closely collaborating with colleagues across EAU, Emergency, and allied health professionals to provide comprehensive assessment, triage, and management of all medical emergencies.
Responsibilities
* Lead the acute assessment, triage and management of all patients in the EAU, categorising needs and ensuring appropriate care.
* Liaise with senior therapists, nurses, and the Emergency Department to facilitate ED performance indicators.
* Supervise and train assigned EAU junior staff, ensuring effective patient flow.
* Maintain databases and performance records of admissions and assessment provision.
* Act as a resource for data information and contribute to teaching of medical students and junior staff, including a regular slot in medical registrar teaching.
Qualifications
* Completed CCT or equivalent (CESR) and must be on the Specialist Register.
* Dedicated to patient care with strong communication and teamwork skills.
